Similar results were presented by other studies. Incorrect administration accounted for 81% of sildenafil failures referred by primary care physicians (Atiemo et al 2003). Reasons included administration after heavy meals, lack of sexual stimulation, short timing to intercourse, and too few attempts for intercourse. The authors were able to salvage 41.5% of nonresponders after reeducation as measured by the General Assessment Question (GAG) and Sexual Health Inventory for Men (SHIM) scores. Gruenwald and colleagues (2006) showed that counseling and dose adjustment were directly influential in achieving an excellent response to a second trial of sildenafil in patients with ED who had previously failed treatment with the drug, and obviated their needing to seek more invasive measures. In this study, 38% of the included patients did not receive any explanations or counseling whatsoever from the prescribing physician. After proper instruction, erectile function domain scores increased significantly and overall 23.6% of the patients had a normal IIEF EF domain score (≥26) at the end of the study.
The Scenario: Driven by an urge to be the best he can be, a friend who does not have erectile dysfunction is pre-gaming for sex by taking Viagra recreationally. He maintains that the erections he sports while taking it are fuller, harder, and more long lasting than the ones he produces naturally and help overcome a slew of obstacles that can bedevil his boner including too much booze, cocaine, performance anxiety, and the fact that he's long past the days when a stiff breeze would be enough to provoke a thumping erection. He's also been known to take it when he's not necessarily in the mood for sex but doesn't want to disappoint a horny partner.
This no.1 penis strengthening exercise is essential for helping to correct erectile dysfunction problems and can lead to mind-blowing orgasms. The download instructions (see link above) also contain important information regarding a common mistake that men make, especially when doing Kegel exercises. Kegel Exercises are not the best treatment for premature ejaculation! However, a slight modification to a common Kegel exercise can make it become more beneficial in overcoming PE and ED. See the above instructions for detailed explanation.
Some patients experienced a sudden loss of some or all of their vision after they took sildenafil or other medications that are similar to sildenafil. The vision loss was permanent in some cases. It is not known if the vision loss was caused by the medication. If you experience a sudden loss of vision while you are taking sildenafil, call your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of sildenafil or similar medications such as tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra) until you talk to your doctor.
Once I meet someone and we share that we have a common experience; their diabetes and my life long experience as a care taker, we tend to have an instant bond. Think about it. How many people do you meet who you feel really get you right after your introduction? The conversations that follow tend to be very personal. Not a common experience with all strangers.
Older age. A man’s risk increases past the age of 40, as age is the variable most strongly associated with impotence. This is due to changing hormones, higher risk for heart problems and those affecting circulation, and decreased sexual desire that often occurs with increasing age. For example, based on findings from the National Health and Social Life Survey, it’s been found that “men between 50–60 years old are more than 3 times as likely to experience erection problems and to report low sexual desire compared to men aged 18 to 29 years.” (3)
Something else to consider is your porn use. If you are masturbating to very stimulating porn on a regular basis then it might be difficult to get as aroused in the bedroom with your partner. Watching video pornography is very stimulating and often men have difficulty creating that same level of arousal or stimulation with their partners. Consider masturbating without technology as visual images in your head are less stimulating then watching something live. Try this for two weeks and see if your erection quality improves.
In addition to lowering blood sugars, reducing weight, and controlling inflammation, a number of treatments classed as “penis rehabilitation” have been effective in men with ED. Penis rehab involves ways of restoring blood flow to the penis. Many of these treatments were developed for men recovering from prostate surgery. They have been used by soldiers returning with injuries and PTSD. They also seem to be effective in some men with diabetes.
The endothelium is vital to the maintenance of vascular health. It is a critical determinant of vascular tone and patency, reactivity, inflammation, vascular remodeling, and blood fluidity. (9, 10). Nitric oxide (NO) is the most potent vasodilator and is secreted by the endothelium. It is synthesized from Larginine by the endothelial enzyme NO synthase (eNOS). NO released in response to sexual stimulation relaxes penile vascular smooth muscle by increasing intracellular cyclic 3′, 5′-guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) concentration. Vasodilatation of erectile tissues allows the sinusoidal spaces to fill with blood resulting in the attainment and maintenance of an erection (5).
For oral erectile dysfunction medicines to work as desired, they must be used properly in the first place. This means taking the medicine 30–45 minutes before engaging in sexual intimacy; taking the drug on an empty stomach or at least avoiding a heavy or high-fat meal before taking the drug (this is especially important when using sildenafil); and engaging in adequate genital stimulation before attempting intercourse. Drinking small amounts of alcohol (one to two drinks) should not compromise the effectiveness of erectile dysfunction medicines, but larger amounts of alcohol can diminish a man’s ability to have an erection.
Although zinc supplements may help restore zinc levels in men with a zinc deficiency and help prevent a deficiency in elderly men when consumed in recommended amounts, MedlinePlus suggests that routine daily use of zinc supplements is generally not recommended. The maximum safe daily intake for zinc is 40 milligrams per day for men, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements. Side effects from too much zinc include headaches, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. MedlinePlus reports that taking very high doses of 10 to 30 grams, or 10,000 to 30,000 milligrams, of zinc can be fatal.
